Forty is a symbolic number in Judaism, signifying wisdom and maturity, and we are very proud to have published 640 stories, originally written in 23 languages, as we reach this symbolic milestone.
Issue #40 is a splendid collection: 12 stories that were written originally in Ladino, Yiddish, Hebrew, English, and for the first time in Jewish Fiction… (drum roll)… Georgian! “Shemariah’s Last Word” by Gerzel Baazov has been deftly translated from Georgian into English by William Tyson Sadleir, and we think you’ll love it.
In these challenging days for Israel and Jews worldwide, we hope that this new issue of Jewish Fiction brings you enjoyment and enriches your celebration of the upcoming holidays. To you and your loved ones we wish good health, happiness, and many blessings in the coming year.
